To flowers.
Isn’t it nice when someone sends you flowers? When was the last time you sent flowers to someone you loved? Yes, we know this is a bit gushy for us stodgy newspaper types, but, hey, it’s a three-day weekend. Have some fun. Send someone flowers. Or bring a few home while you are out doing errands. Brighten someone’s day. It makes you feel good about yourself.
To Linda Tuttle.
Our suspension of judgment is over. Now that she has been convicted, sentenced and is in prison, we can finally give the thumbs down. She will never be able to repay this community for the damage she has done. Kudos to Judge David S. Doty for handing down a severe penalty. Tuttle deserves 3 1/2 years behind bars and deserves that stiff $1.3 million in restitution. Indeed, she might never ever be able to pay the sum back, but there is no doubt she should have to spend the rest of her life attempting to pay that money back.
To Shinefest and other volunteers.
We would like to thank local Christians with Shinefest who volunteered to work on the roof at The Children’s Center and any and all skilled and non-skilled laborers who came to work Aug. 13, too. The new roof looks superb. Thanks should go to donors, just the same. The Children’s Center raised $8,000 in two months to make the work possible. Many hands make for light work. Good job, everyone!
