Man arrested for kicking out squad car window

Police arrested John Anthony Garza, 31, for third-degree criminal damage, misdemeanor theft, obstruction and disorderly conduct at 7:53 p.m. Thursday at 134 W. William St., according to reports. Police reportedly had received a call of Garza trying to start fights with people and were going to take him into the Law Enforcement Center, when he allegedly kicked a squad car window out.
Man arrested for DWI
Police arrested Eric Donald Velzke, 21, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop at 1:14 a.m. today on the 300 block of Court Street, according to reports. Reports indicated passenger Christopher Michael Hamson, 26, was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Windows broken out of vehicle
Windows were reported smashed out of a vehicle at 18521 750th Ave. in Albert Lea at 9:07 a.m. Thursday, according to reports.
Car broken into
Bags of items from Walmart, Herbergers and Shopko were reported taken from an unlocked car at 111 Adams Ave. at 10 a.m. Thursday, according to reports. Stolen property was estimated at about $190.
Police are advising residents that if they see anyone suspicious lurking near their vehicles to call police right away.
