Ruth Indrelie, 91, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Ruth Harriet Indrelie, age 91, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Ruth died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Ruth Indrelie

Ruth Harriet Indrelie was born on Feb. 3, 1920, to Leslie and Edith Howey in Lisbon, N.D. She grew up in Lisbon and attended rural school and High School in Lisbon, N.D. Ruth then attended the State Teachers College in Valley City, N.D. She taught school in rural North Dakota. On March 22, 1940, Ruth was united in marriage to Hubert Indrelie in Lisbon, N.D. The couple came to Manchester in 1942 where they farmed. In 1959, they moved to Albert Lea where Ruth worked as a dietary aide at Naeve Hospital. Ruth had been a member of the Methodist Church in Lisbon, N.D., West Freeborn Lutheran Church in Manchester and Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Ruth and Hubert enjoyed traveling in their motor home.

Survivors include her son Wayne (Bev) Indrelie of Albert Lea; daughters Judy (Cal) Johnson of Watertown, Janet (Norman) Clapsaddle of Maple Plain, Norma (Marlin) Carlson of New Brighton, and Kathleen (David) May of Ramsey; son-in-law, Earl Haaland of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren Kenneth Indrelie, Richard (Judy) Indrelie, David (Roanne) Johnson, Karin (David) Wald, Diane Clapsaddle, Jeanine Clapsaddle, Teresa (Tom) Dainsberg, Michael Clapsaddle, Brian Clapsaddle, Kellie (Bob) Brewer, Jennifer (Bob) Anderson, Aaron (Jennifer) Carlson, Heidi (Desmond) Dodd, Douglas (Stephanie) Haaland, Angela (Tom) Morgan, Heather (Paul) Imus, Ryan (Angela) May, and Dustin May; 28 great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Sue) Howey of Quinlan, Texas, sisters Florence of Vancouver, Wash., and Gertrude of Oakes, N.D.; many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hubert; daughter Marilyn Haaland; granddaughter-in-law Anne Indrelie; great-grandson Grant Anderson; brothers Delbert, Earl and Clayton Howey; and sisters Isabel Jensen, Helen Haecherl, Lois Perkins and Grace Kinney.
