Albert Lea Art Center presents a Navajo experience

Dr. Lowell and JoAnn Barr will host this month’s program for the Lecture Series at the Albert Lea Art Center at 7 p.m. Thursday. Barr is a pediatric doctor who is still working to help children, especially children of the Navajo population in the “four corners” area of the southwest, including Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. The Barrs will also will share some of the items that they have collected from that region, including pottery, rugs and more.

Admission to this lecture is free and open to the public.

Albert Lea Art Center’s lecture series showcases local and visiting artists and craftsmen, and include painters, woodworkers, musicians, poets, potters, storytellers, jewelry artists, sculptors and others.

Art Center hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Art shop and gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
