Be sure to vote for Austin schools

I know how busy parents can be. Believe me, I understand that feeling.
There are so many things that can fill up a daily schedule. Along with work schedules, many families have children who are involved in any number of activities before and after school. For many families — mine included — time is a precious commodity.
That said, I am asking each parent in the district to take some of his or her valuable time to do two — just two — very simple things. First, take time to learn about the district’s proposed bond referendum.
Passage of this referendum is absolutely critical to the future of our district. Our district is faced with serious overcrowding and it will continue to get worse if the referendum is not approved. As parents, it is our responsibility to learn about the bond proposal and share the information with others. Call any school administrator or go online to www.austin.k12.mn.us to find out more about the referendum and the fantastic things that will happen with its approval.
The second thing that we all need to do is to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8. It is not enough to think the building bond is a good idea. You need to go cast your vote, be part of the decision, and encourage others to do so. Please find time in your busy schedule to support our kids by voting yes on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
