Mitch Pederson calls this photograph “Mermaid on Fountain Lake.” His picture won the June Wells Award, which is given as the Photograph of the Year award in the Albert Lea Lens & Shutter Club.

Each year, members of the Albert Lea Lens & Shutter Club vie for the Best of the Best awards. And every year, the Tribune gladly prints the results.
Member Cheryl Herold coordinated the contest and provided the Tribune with the winning images.
Darcy Sime won the Ken Wangen Award, aka the Photographer of the Year prize. One photo in her portfolio was called “Springtime Fairy.”
Carol Haroldson’s “Ballooning over the Nile” won first place in the Lens & Shutter Club’s annual contest.
“Refreshing Cherries” by Cheryl Herold received second place in the club’s annual competition.
Jim Wendell’s “Just Thinking” won third place in the Lens & Shutter Club’s annual contest.
“St. Louis City Garden” by Dustin Peterson won an honorable mention in the club’s annual competition.
Bernadine Peterson’s photo “Church in Winter” of a church in Manchester received an honorable mention.
