An assortment of bicycle racks, bicycles, tires, picnic tables and other items were reportedly found on the roof of Glenville-Emmons High School Friday morning after what appeared to be a Homecoming Week prank.
High School Principal Jeff Tietje said six students came forward Friday and admitted to being involved with the act. Because there was no vandalism or damage to property found, they were not suspended.
“It was intended to be harmless fun, but we just wanted to point out there were some dangers of that,” Tietje said. “This is not something we want our students to be doing.”
Rumors spread Friday morning that Homecoming festivities had been canceled because of the prank, but he said this was not the case because the students admitted to being involved.
