PRESTON — One man has died in a logging accident in southeastern Minnesota.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department said a 60-year-old man died while logging Thursday near Preston. Sheriff Daryl Jensen said another logger found Kenneth “Kent” Erding under a fallen tree. Jensen said Erding had apparently cut at least one tree partially and was cutting another when the tree fell on top of him. He said moderate winds may have contributed to the tree falling.
