MINNEAPOLIS — Hundreds of Minnesota activists plan to converge on the Hennepin County Government Center plaza in solidarity with the demonstrations against Wall Street.
The protesters plan to “occupy” the plaza starting Friday, and say they will stay there until they see major changes. The protesters have varied causes but have spoken largely about unemployment, economic inequality and corporate greed.
The Occupy Wall Street protests started Sept. 17 in New York with a few dozen demonstrators. Since then, hundreds have set up camp in lower Manhattan. Related demonstrations have popped up around the country.
Occupy Minnesota organizers are planning workshops Friday afternoon, followed by a rally at 5 p.m.
