Why didn’t tree get cut sooner?

My husband is the man who was injured at work on Thursday. Monte sustained a broken neck requiring an anterior and posterior spinal fusion.

I wanted to thank Monte’s coworkers who helped free him from under the tree. You guys are awesome! Thank you also to Kelli Abrego. Your willingness to call 911 on Monte’s behalf and to sit with him and offer words of comfort to a total stranger was truly appreciated.

Thank you to the emergency responders. You were able to get him to the hospital quickly. We are thankful for our friends, families and co-workers. Your support and prayers have kept us going.

To the woman who owned the property where the rotten tree stood: What were you thinking? You were told several times that your tree needed to come down. Why would you not take care of that? This accident did not have to happen. I hope and pray that anyone else who has a tree that needs to get cut down is smart enough to call someone to do it. Nobody should have to go through what Monte is going through simply because someone refuses to have their dangerous trees removed.
