You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Montessori School: Do you have afternoons available to help with child care and engage in the preschool activities at the Albert Lea Montessori Children’s House? Two assignments are open with one for an as needed assistant and the other on a daily basis working with one to three children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years of age. Call Stephanie Passingham at 373-5204 for details.
Fountain Lake Bookstore: Volunteers staff this unique bookstore on the lower level of Albert Lea City Hall below the children’s library. Great conversations, coffee and book chats abound while you take a shift as clerk at the bookstore. Call Carol Frydenlund at 377-2785 for details and to schedule your time there on a Monday through Thursday.
Headstart: Come in to Brookside Education Center and read stories to preschoolers in Headstart. Classes are in session Monday through Thursday, late morning and early afternoon. Call and we can schedule a time that works for you. Come once or make it a habit.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
