PM Report: Man arrested after string of car thefts

A Fairmont man was arrested Thursday night in Hamilton County Iowa after he was reportedly recovered with a vehicle stolen from the McDonald’s on Main Street in Albert Lea.

Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Jeff Strom said Tate Lee Waterbury, 31, is being investigated for allegedly stealing three other automobiles.

Strom stated it appeared a vehicle was stolen in Fairmont, then dropped off in Spring Grove. A second vehicle was stolen in Spring Grove and then dropped off at Applebee’s in Albert Lea. A third vehicle was allegedly stolen at Applebee’s and then dropped off at the McDonald’s on Main Street.

Waterbury was reportedly found driving a fourth vehicle stolen from McDonald’s.

 

Copper reported stolen

Copper was reported stolen from the U.S. Cellular site, 82420 215th St. in Hayward, at 10:34 a.m. Friday, reports stated.

Copper was reported stolen from 78350 310th St., Ellendale, at 11:55 a.m. Friday, according to reports.

 

Brush, field fires reported

A grass brush fire was reported near a barn at 75463 160th St. in Albert Lea at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, according to reports.

A field fire was reported at 79464 113th St., Glenville, at 3:15 p.m. Friday, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports. Reports indicated someone was burning ditches nearby and the cornfield caught fire.

 

Injury crash reported

An injury traffic crash was reported at 24733 880th Ave., Austin, at 9:04 a.m. Thursday, according to reports. No other information was available as of press time.

Man cited for DWI

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies cited Shaine Little Feathe Deverney for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop at 1:43 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Freeborn County Road 17 and South Lincoln, reports stated.

 

Truck fire reported

A truck fire was reported at 4:39 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lane of Interstate 35 near Exit 11. No other information was available as of press time.
