CONGER — The nearly full moon wasn’t the only thing lighting up the night on Thursday. People living southeast of Conger could see a fire burning brightly. Some thought it was a structure fire and called 911 dispatchers.
It turns out it was a planned fire at Gary Holmen’s place at 68585 170th St.
Holmen had the permits and previously had contacted the Conger fire chief and other authorities about the burn. Wangen Excavating did the job of knocking down an old house and moving some of the remaining materials to a burn pile.
A full moon lights the night sky tonight.
