No public service for 4 Lewis-McChord aviators

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Joint Base Lewis-McChord says no public memorial service is planned for all four Army aviators who died Monday night in the crash of two helicopters in a training area of the base.

Spokeswoman Catherine Caruso said the base memorial is limited to family, friends, and soldiers in 16th Combat Aviation Brigade.

It will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lewis-North chapel on the base.

The crash killed 25-year-old Capt. Anne M. Montgomery, who grew up in Watford City, N.D.; 36-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Frank A. Buoniconti of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 32-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Lucas Daniel Sigfrid, who went to high school in suburban Minneapolis; and 36-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Shan Joseph Satterfield, who grew up in Anchorage, Alaska.
