VFW to hold meeting Saturday

Minnesota First District Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Ladies Auxiliary will hold their meeting in Austin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday hosted by Olaf B. Damm VFW Post No. 1216 and its Ladies Auxiliary.
First District VFW Commander Jim Rowe, of Owatonna, and First District VFW Ladies Auxiliary President Pat Sable, of Owatonna, will preside over the meetings.
VFW and Auxiliary members will meet at the Union Center, 316 4th Ave. NE, which is next door to the VFW Club with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served following the meeting at the Austin VFW.
VFW Auxiliary members will have “Schools of Instruction” on these programs: Americanism, Buddy Poppy, Hospital and Veterans & Family Support. Buddy Poppy entries will be registered at the VFW Post Home starting at 8:45. Winning entries will be announced at lunch.
Past department and district presidents will be honored at the auxiliary meeting.
All those chairpersons, who are unable to attend, should mail their reports to the auxiliary district secretary prior to this meeting. We encourage all 1st District VFW Post and Auxiliaries to be in attendance to receive information on all programs.
