Phyllis A. Lipowski, 76, of Albert Lea, died peacefully at her daughter Susan’s home on Monday, Dec. 26, 2011. She was born on June 10, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Anna (Fosberg) Sward. Phyllis grew up and attended school in the Chicago area. She was united in marriage to Edward Lipowski and they made their home and raised their family in Chicago. After Edward died in 1982, Phyllis moved to the Albert Lea area to be closer to her siblings.

Phyllis enjoyed her independence, baking, doing crafts, gardening, watching TV and caring for her dog, Peanut. She had much love and pride for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children: Edward Lipowski of Florida, Susan Fickett of Albert Lea and Carol Warner of Dodge Center; grandchildren: Ricky Fickett and Angela Fickett of Albert Lea, Dustin Forton of Georgia, Ben Warner of Dodge Center, Heather Lipowski of Florida and Vincent Warner of Dodge Center; great-grandchildren: Ethan Fickett, Gage Warner, Trenton Warner, Aiden Fickett and Emma Forton; siblings: Clara of Wisconsin, Roger (Joyce) Sward of Clarks Grove and Doris Clark of Florida; and nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.

At Phyllis’s request, there will be no services held.
