About 20 people showed up Saturday for a new aspect of The Big Freeze — geocaching.
Steve Patten, the organizer for the activity, said most cachers were from Albert Lea, New Richland or Northwood, Iowa, with a few from the Twin Cities.
“Most people came and checked in, then went caching in town for the day,” he said.
Geocachers use GPS coordinates to find hidden containers, then share what they found on the Internet.
Children who participated were part of a drawing. Alex Merritt won new walkie-talkies.
