Memorial services for Richard Knutson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Andrea Meyers will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. To sign the guestbook go to www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Richard died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester from complications from diabetes.

Richard Dean Knutson was born Oct. 12, 1940, to Luman and F. Louise (Cunningham) Knutson in Albert Lea. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church. Richard grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. After graduating he worked at Wilson & Co. and attended vocational school graduating in 1966 as a draftsman. For the first five years after college he worked in Chicago then he worked in Minneapolis as a draftsman and machinist until his retirement. Richard was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. He loved reading and playing pool. After having a stroke in 1998 he moved back to Albert Lea.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Knutson; brother, John (Kathy) Knutson; two special nieces, Julie Larson and Janice (Brad) Adams; great-nephews, Jacob Larson and Hunter Adams; uncle, Vernon Cunningham; aunt, Waunita Blowers; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Lumen Knutson.
