Eugene Otto Weber, 81, of Wells, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at his home in Wells. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with the Rev. Thomas Niehaus officiating. Burial will be at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of the arrangements.

Gene was born June 10, 1930, in rural Wells, to Chris and Augusta (Meir) Weber. He graduated from high school in 1949. He married Dolores Schroeder on Sept. 20, 1950, in Wells. He started his own construction business in 1954. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the accordion and listening to old time music.

Gene is survived by his wife, Dolores of Wells; children: Karen (Dennis), Randy (Dawn) and Denise (Paul) all of Wells; siblings: Jim (Twila) of Wells, Caroline of Wisconsin, Pauline, Alice and Beatrice all of Mankato; grandchildren: Michelle, Dennis Jr., April, Maxine and Danielle; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Theresa, John, Ruth, Dorothy, Lloyd, Edward and Viola.
