A letter to the editor on April 8 by Dave Olson caught my attention since I concur that our city often hires a consultant to plan a project.

As he noted, the county and city engineers should handle the job (as businesses use their engineers routinely).

The April 9 headline announced that Sue Miller, Freeborn County engineer, was awarded top honors by the National Association of County Engineers. It is assumed she should be qualified to decide on changes to the north end of Bridge Avenue. Our city and county engineers could work together on this project.
