Looking for column from the mayor

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since I attended the Albert Lea City Council meeting and asked point blank the questions we want answered regarding Mr. Jim Norman and Ms. Rhonda Moen. After my last letter, the mayor called me to try to explain the city’s position again. I asked him to please put something in the newspaper so that anyone and everyone interested in this topic could see what the city’s response finally is.

I am still waiting for that response to be given by the mayor. Is this going to be something else that’s forgotten about? As I told him, it is not just me who is asking these questions. I have had people come up to me wanting to know the same thing. I can’t help it if people won’t talk to him, but I hear it. Maybe that says something about the relationship between the city fathers and the people of the city.

Once more so the mayor understands: 1. We want to know why the charges were not dropped against Mr. Norman after the deal was struck to have him resign for dropping the charges. I am attempting to get a copy of this letter through the Freedom of Information Act, and we’ll see what happens. 2. We want to know why Ms. Moen was not charged after it was discovered that she had done the same thing with the city credit card. I (we) don’t care that she wasn’t fired, because she had already left employment by the time we found out. We want to know why no one would sign a complaint against her. Please be on the lookout for anything from the mayor answering these questions.
