Carol was born October 28, 1926, in Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Clara (Hengested) Egland.
She graduated from Northwood High School and married Ellsworth D. Emmons on Oct. 19, 1947, at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. Carol worked at Skinner Chamberlin for many years and later at the Skyline restaurant. Her most prized occupation was being a mother and grandmother to her two granddaughters, Amy and Abby, whom she also cared for.
Carol enjoyed her family, gardening, flowers and her prideful care of her lawn; she enjoyed travels including trips to the lake and Florida beaches and her pet dogs.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and spent the last six years as a resident of St. John’s Lutheran Home.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Emmons and Bruce Bermel, Minnetonka; daughter Nancy and Todd Leach, Albert Lea; granddaughter Amy Leach, Fargo, N.D.; Abby Leach, Albert Lea; sister Elaine and Harold Knutson, Glenville, sister-in-law Elaine Emmons Rogness, Owatonna and sister-in-law Cleo Mathews of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth, in 1983; her parents, Oscar and Clara Egland, and mother-in-law Mabel Emmons.
She was a very giving and kind wife, mother and Nana and will be greatly missed by all.
