Come for a walk and fight disease

This letter is simply a reminder.

I want to remind our community of an event coming on Saturday.

What is the event? It is a walk to bring awareness of Parkinson’s disease in our community and in the world. This is also an event to raise money to fight this disease.

But mostly we want people to come and visit. Come and talk with neighbors and friends who are afflicted. Come to learn.

No one needs to walk. Participitate in the walk if that works for you. Participate in the silent auction if you want to. And, who knows? You might even win something in the drawing.

Come and have some coffee. Come to bring encouragement to folks in the thick of this battle, kind of like an “open house.” The event will be at the Northbridge Mall. It will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Which entrance would be best? If you come from the back side, you can come in the theater/food court door. If you come from the front, you will find us easily if you enter by the mall door closest to the Shopko entrance.

I hope we run out of coffee and cookies and bananas and apples — and other things, too.
