The financial services firm Edward Jones was named the No. 1 full-service brokerage firm in the June edition of SmartMoney magazine’s Annual Broker Survey.
“Edward Jones bounds back into the top spot in our survey, in no small part because of its stock picking in 2011,” according to SmartMoney magazine.
The magazine lauded Edward Jones for receiving high marks for client satisfaction and trust in independent studies, such as a recent J.D. Power and Associates study. The firm ranked highest in investor satisfaction, according to J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Full Service Investor Satisfaction Study.
“We are once again honored to receive this recognition,” said Edward Jones Managing Partner Jim Weddle. “We consistently have maintained our focus on meeting our clients’ long-term financial goals, and we believe that is best done through a focus on quality investments in a well-balanced portfolio.”
SmartMoney magazine also mentions that Edward Jones has begun to dive into social media “posting videos about investing strategy to its You Tube channel and tweeting daily on Twitter.”
That, however, does not take the place of the collaborative relationship Edward Jones financial advisers have with their clients, with whom they serve from branch offices located in the communities where those clients live and work.
“We don’t ever want technology to take the place of the relationship,” Weddle told SmartMoney magazine.
Edward Jones consistently has been ranked highly in the SmartMoney survey as No. 1 in 2005, 2007 and 2010 and No. 2 in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
In addition to its own research, SmartMoney used a customer-satisfaction survey from J.D. Power and Associates, a trust survey from Forrester Research, a review of customer statements from Dalbar, a Web site review from Corporate Insight and stock-picking performance reviews from Zack’s Investment Research to determine the rankings.
