The following Memorial Day events will be taking place in the area on Monday:

Memorial Day Mass at St. Theodore’s Cemetery at 9:15 a.m. and Twin Lakes Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

Emmons American Legion Post No. 317 will again host traditional visits to seven nearby cemeteries. Schedule as follows:

8:30 a.m. – Assemble

8:45 a.m. – Depart

9 a.m. – Lime Creek Synod

9:15 a.m. – Lime Creek

9:30 a.m. Oak Lawn-Emmons

9:50 a.m. – Silver Lake

10:45 a.m. St. James Catholic

11 a.m. – Brush Hill

11:15 a.m. – Bear Lake

11:30 a.m. – Annual potluck dinner at the Emmons Legion

Women of the ELCA Silver Lake Lutheran Church of rural Northwood, Iowa, will host Memorial Day lunch from 9 a.m. til 2 p.m. Menu includes sloppy joes, potato salad, pies, bars and coffee.

Hartland Memorial Day services will begin at 9 a.m. with a parade from the bank corner to Cross of Glory Church for the program. Address by Jerry Morstad.

The Bohemian National Cemetery north of Myrtle will hold services at 11 a.m. with dinner immediately following at the Brick Hall.
