Police said Tuesday that the Austin High School student who had been missing since last Monday is OK.

Police discovered that Britesha Hampton, 18, who was last seen walking to school May 7, was staying with friends and didn’t know authorities and family members were looking for her, according to the police report.

Hampton’s father notified authorities at about noon Thursday that he last saw Hampton walking to school on May 7, where she had a meeting at 8:30 a.m. The report does not list an exact location where Hampton went.
