Paul Oppegard of Plymouth, a most wonderful man, passed away at age 78. He left us on Friday, May 25, 2012, while surrounded by loved ones, joined in song, to be reunited with his beloved wife Ardis, his parents Martin and Evelyn Oppegard and dear friends in heaven.

He leaves behind daughters: Julie Johnson, Marliese Johnson (Breck), Kathie Bouchard (Bryan) and Kari Gasner (Kevin) whom he loved and inspired with exceeding goodness till his final day. He leaves behind his brother Milo (Betty Lou, Grete, Erik) a true partner in life’s journey. We celebrate the gentle spirit and love he bestowed on his cherished grandchildren: Alyssa and Erica Johnson, Michael, Laura and Daniel Johnson, Weston, Peter and Anders Bouchard, Kelsey, Rikke and Anika Gasner.

Paul was a man of endless heart and talents with a deep and abiding faith. He worked for IBM for his entire career. He served in the Army. His passion for music included singing in choirs, fiddling with the Spelmanslag and hymn writing. He was accomplished in furniture making and wood carving. He could design and build most anything. His mechanical skills were boundless. He was a farmer at heart. A steadfast friend to many including lifelong friend Virgil (Mavis). He leaves behind a legacy of love that runs deep as it also runs wide. He left this life to the song of “Sitting at the Feet of Jesus,” a well deserved resting place where he can now be found.
