MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police fatally shot a man who approached with a knife.

Police said officers responded to a domestic assault call about 2:15 a.m. Saturday and heard a woman screaming from a second floor apartment. Police say at first they weren’t allowed in the apartment but they eventually forced their way in.

According to a police statement, the suspect did not put his knife down when he approached two officers and they were forced to defend themselves. The suspect was shot and killed.
