Speaker announced for Hall of Fame banquet

The Albert Lea High School Hall of Fame committee  has announced Eric Nyquist will be the featured speaker for an induction banquet on July 7.
Nyquist, an Albert Lea native, is an All State Linebacker and former Tiger athlete.

He graduated from Albert Lea in 1990. Following college graduation, in 1998 Nyquist landed a job as the National Football League’s manager of business planning.

After two years with the NFL, Nyquist left to be the executive of business operations for the Chicago Bulls and the White Sox.

In 2005, he joined NASCAR to be the vice president of strategic development.

Nyquist will speak at 7 p.m. at Wedgewood Cove Golf Course following a four-person best shot golf tournament.

The ALHS Hall of Fame was formed in 2010 for the purpose of acknowledging outstanding athletes, coaches and state championship teams that have made significant historical contributions to the athletic program at ALHS.

Five to 10 people will be inducted into this years’ Hall of Fame. The names of the inductees are expected to be released Wednesday.
