The Albert Lea Art Center will host an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday for its newest exhibit, “Adventures in the Outdoors: Minnesota Style.”

This two-gallery exhibit features local artisans who have created art related to natural themes, including hunting, fishing and wildlife. Visitors to the exhibit will be transported to the woods and lakes through exhibits of colorful carved fish, detailed bird decoys, life-like taxidermy, and dramatic paintings of wildlife.

The open house is free and open to the public. Refreshments for the open house are being donated by Nick’s Meats & Grocery, Hayward, Conger Meat Market – Northbridge Mall, Albert Lea & Conger, and Geneva Meats & Processing, Geneva.
