Church services held at park

Nondenominational church services are again being offered at Myre-Big Island State Park this summer.

Services start at 8 a.m. and dress is casual. Anyone is welcome to attend.

The Rev. Joice Shaman of Lay Minister church will lead this Sunday’s service.

There is no cost to attend, but you will need a valid vehicle sticker to enter the state park.

Services last approximately 30 minutes. In case of rain, services are held in the pavilion.

Following is a schedule of who will lead services at the park throughout the summer:

June 24: Lee Freshour of Assemblies of God church in Albert Lea

July 1: Andrea Meyers of Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea

July 8: Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister of St. John’s Lutheran Home

July 15: retired pastor David Hernes

July 22: retired pastor Milt Ost

July 29: George Marin of Grace Christian Church in Albert Lea

Aug. 5: No services at park. A City-wide church service will be at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds

Aug. 12: Joel Erickson, interim pastor at First Lutheran Church

Aug. 19: Wayne Halvorson of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea

Aug. 26: James Kassera of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
