Crippled cottonwood

Workers clean up a cottonwood that fell Sunday along the paved trail near Brookside Education Center. The tree fell as a result of strong winds. The Albert Lea airport reported sustained winds of about 25 mph around 5 p.m. A gust at 8:53 p.m. reached 39 mph. -- Colleen Thompson/Albert Lea Tribune
