Century College sophomore Pitcher Nick Fure, a graduate of United South Central High School, was named to the 2012 NJCAA All American Third Team for his excellent play this past spring. Fure finished the 2012 season 7-2 with 2.87 ERA. In 69 innings pitched, he gave up 57 hits, struck out 65, and walked only 18. Opponents hit only .221 off him.

Fure was also named to the NJCAA All Region XIII Baseball Team, and he has accepted a baseball scholarship to attend Judson University just outside of Chicago to continue his baseball career.

“Nick deserves the recognition he is receiving, as he had a tremendous season for us on the mound as he was usually matched up against the toughest opponents on our schedule,” stated Century head baseball coach Dwight Kotila. “Nick really worked hard the past two years to become one of the top pitchers in our region. We wouldn’t have had the success we have had without players like Nick Fure.”
