We all have heard the expression “when you get a lemon, turn it into lemonade.” Tom Leland, a local real estate broker, has done just that thing when he took the old KATE Radio building from an eyesore to what is now being developed on West Main Street in Albert Lea. I drive by that area quite often and each time I glance at the progress that is being made at that spot. He has to a degree kept the form of the building somewhat like the old one, but with all of the materials and some changes in design. It is something our city and we as citizens can be proud of.
