Linda Josephine Klocek, 68, of Alden, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Clarks, Neb. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casmir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Thomas Niehaus will officiate and burial will be in St. Casmir Cemetery in Wells. Visitation will be held today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of the arrangements.
Linda was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Shelby, Neb., the daughter of William and Barbara (Wurtz) Kohl. She was a Clarks High School graduate. She married Hubert Klocek on May 1, 1965, at St. Casmir in Wells. She attended school in Minneapolis to become an X-ray lab technician. She worked at the Wells Hospital, Club 90 in Alden as a waitress, as a nurse assistant in Thorne Crest of Albert Lea, and was an assistant cook at Alden Conger Schools until retirement. Linda was a member of the Alden American Legion Auxiliary, the Lions Club and the Red Hats. She volunteered at the Alden Food Shelf and helped with senior dining. She was a very giving person and would do anything to help someone in need. She loved gardening, canning and feeding her birds.
Linda is survived by her son Kent Klocek of Kiester; daughter Robin (Troy) Olson of Byron; sister Arlyce Kohl of Clarks, Neb.; Nephew Sean (Tina) Kohl of Texas and his children Vaughn and Griffin; nephew Eric Kohl of Maryland. She is also survived by many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hubert, her brother William Kohl Jr. and his wife Bonnie; and by a daughter in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the ALS Association or to the donor’s choice.
