Sirens sound

Sirens blared in Albert Lea on Thursday night.
An Albert Lea officer reportedly spotted rotating clouds south of the city. A severe thunderstorm moved through the area but no tornado formed.
The National Weather Services issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Freeborn County and some neighboring counties to the west and north. The warning ended at 10 p.m., though rain and thunder continued until about midnight.
