Special rates still available at Humane Society

There’s only two weeks left of the Freeborn County Humane Society’s special rates for National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. The fees are available on Fridays in June. On Fridays the fee to adopt cats will be $15 for one or $25 for two.

Kittens aged 3 to 9 weeks will also be available. Staff at the Humane Society hope all 18 kittens will be adopted so they won’t have to grow up in the shelter. There’s also many adult cats that need forever homes. The shelter is experiencing overcrowding, and staff hope the community takes advantage of the special rates on Fridays.

The Humane Society’s goal is to see 25 cats or kittens be adopted in the month of June. Hours on Fridays are from noon to 5 p.m. The shelter is located at 101 James Ave., near Frank Hall Park in Albert Lea. Call 377-8501 for more information.
