WORTHINGTON — Windsurfers from around the Midwest gathered in southwestern Minnesota this weekend.

Dozens of windsurfers were competing in a variety of races on Lake Okabena in Worthington. Larry Reed, of Des Moines, Iowa, has been at all 13 regattas held in Worthington in past years. With strong, gusty winds this week, Reed says surfers can skim along the lake at 20 mph to 30 mph.
