Feeling hot, hot, hot

The air temperature for Albert Lea reached 91 degrees on Monday, short of the record for July 16 of 99 degrees set in 1910.

More hot weather was in store for today, with a forecast high of 95. The record for July 17 is 101, set in 1936.

The hot weather isn’t seeing an end, but Wednesday through Friday should be a bit cooler, thanks to a high pressure to the northeast. The National Weather Service says Saturday and Sunday will be hot again, with highs in the mid-90s, as the same bubble of hot air from the west returns to Minnesota for more.
