Robert Alan Majerus, 64, of Gurnee, Ill., passed away July 15, 2012, in Gurnee, Ill.

He was born Aug. 12, 1947, in Wabasha.

He was a church member of St. Dismas. He was an American Legion Lifetime Member.

He was a National Food Service equipment manager.

Robert grew up in Albert Lea as one of six sons of Omer and Mary Majerus. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam era veteran. Robert was married to his wife, Kathy, for 36 years. They have one son, Adam, who married Nina Kirchstein in January 2011. Robert was a graduate of Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and worked in the refrigeration service industry from 1972 to present. Robert enjoyed his family, friends and spending time hunting, fishing, cooking and reading. He will be missed by family, friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, his father, Omer, and his brother, Jeffery.

He is survived by his five brothers; his wife Kathleen; his son Adam; daughter-in-law Nina and numerous family and friends.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031. The Rev. John Ryan will officiate. There will be a private burial. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Marsh Funeral Home.
