WOODBURY  — Police say one person is dead after a standoff at a hotel in Woodbury.

Officers were called to the Red Roof Inn about 1:30 a.m. today on a report of gunshots fired. Authorities evacuated the hotel as they negotiated with the gunman. Authorities say nine people in a hotel room were being held against their will. The shooting victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital.

The gunman was taken into custody about 5:30 a.m.

The relationship between the gunman and the person who was shot is under investigation.
