Freeborn class of 1947 holds reunion

The Freeborn High School class of 1947 met at the Village Cafe in Hartland at 6 p.m. July 28 for social time for its 65th class reunion. The class was served family style, a meal of Swiss steak with carrots, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw and bread basket. They also had their traditional orange sherbert with an Oreo cookie in honor of the school colors, which were orange and black. Time was spent visiting, catching up and taking pictures.

Those in attendance were: Lyle and Darlene Bird, Elmer and Merle Stensrud, Don and Ons Meyer, Clifford and Millie Olson, Wilma and Bob Pestorious, Sylvia and Eddie Johnson, Stella Langlie, Shirley Sibilrud and Milo and Elaine Peterson.

Elmer Stensrud was appointed as master of ceremonies for the next reunion which will be held the third Thursday of July in 2013 at noon. Food will be ordered off the menu at the Village Cafe in Hartland.
