Column: Aymee Hanna, From the Fair
Every year for the past five years I have been going to the Minnesota State Fair with my husband. He is a police officer and has worked the fair for the past eight years.
So this year, I thought it might if be fun if I actually got involved as well and wrote home about my time at the fair.
There is so much to see and do! I am at the fair the entire 12-day run, so I have plenty of time to see and do everything. Hopefully, this column will assist you in planning your day at the fair, if you’re planning on coming on up, and if not, give a window into it, or should we say a “fair view.”
The “Great Minnesota Get Together” started today. You can buy tickets at the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce or any Cub Foods. Don’t forget to buy a Blue Ribbon Bargain Book, too. This book pays for itself, even if you only use one coupon out of it.
I’m going armed with three of the books, which are only $5 at the fair.
I’m so excited to have this opportunity to be able to show you around and help guide you through the fair, and hopefully show you things you never even knew existed.
And if you happen to be at the fair and see me, come say hello — I’ll be the short girl, wearing the yellow Albert Lea Tribune T-shirt. I love meeting new people! And you just might end up in the paper! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s column which will highlight the setting up involved in the day before the fair starts. It’s one of my favorite days of the fair with all the energy and excitement.
Aymee Hanna is an Albert Lea resident and will be reporting from the Minnesota State Fair.
