GOP picnic slated for Aug. 14

The Freeborn County Republican Party picnic will be Aug. 14 in the Edgewater Bay Pavilion at Edgewater Park. That date also is the day of the primary election.

The featured speaker is Minnesota House District 27A Rep. Rich Murray, a Republican from Albert Lea. He is in his first term. He is vice chairman of Goverment Operations and Elections Committee. He also is on the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee, State Government Finance Committee and the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee.

He is married to Sandy, and they have four children and 11 grandchildren. Murray spends time with his grandchildren and is involved in his church and community volunteer programs.

Also at the picnic will be Waltham resident Linden Anderson, who is running for Minnesota Senate District 27. Anderson has spent the last 25 years with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He is involved in church and community programs.

There will be a silent auction.
