The city of Albert Lea will host three neighborhood picnics this month. The picnics will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates and parks:

• Aug. 16: Frank Hall Park

• Aug. 21: Troy Hammer Park

• Aug. 23: Sondergaard Park

These informal gatherings are intended as a way for city staff and the community to share ideas and learn about city services. The city is encouraging people to come and check out fire and police vehicles and other city displays. There will also be games for the kids. Hot dogs, baked beans and a beverage will be provided.

People should bring lawn chairs or a blanket.

The picnics are organized by Albert Lea and the National Vitality Center Leadership Team.
