NORTHWOOD — A Northwood girl injured July 10 in a semi-van accident near Hanlontown, Iowa, is set to be released from St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, today, a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman said.

Destiny Bruce, 10, of Northwood, was listed in critical condition following the accident, in which Cassidy Stehn, 9, of Northwood, and Hana Riedinger, 12, of Kensett, died.

Bruce will now begin outpatient care, the hospital spokeswoman said.

The girls were on their way to a canoe outing in Clear Lake when the crash occurred at the intersection of Wheelerwood Avenue at U.S. Highway 9.

The outing was sponsored by the Worth County Conservation Department.
