As new residents of Alden, moving here from central Iowa in December, this is our first summer here. We have noticed several very large bee-type bugs flying around our yard. They appear to have a wasp-like front with a yellow-and-black-striped bulbous rear! Does anyone know what they are and if they are dangerous stingers? Thank you.
