The Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed in a 19-team meet in Faribault on Friday.

Jim Haney, the Tigers coach, said the coaching staff was pleased with both team’ performances.“We ran like we were supposed to run,” Haney said. “It was a fast course, and we ran our best times of the season.”

Haney said the team did a good job of packing up. In the girls’ race, the first through fifth runners were 47 seconds apart and in the boys’ race the runners were 1 minute, 25 seconds apart.

“The next step is to keep moving the times down and working toward the goal of running in the mid to low 15-minute range,” Haney said.
