Joe and Ruth (Virchow) Van Hooser will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 29 at the St. Edward Corcoran Center. A meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.

Joe and Ruth were married on Sept. 29, 1962, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Austin. The couple has five children; Judy Braaten, Sue (Jim) Flanagan, Dan (Jill) Van Hooser, Barb (Dave) Solland and Tom (Lynette) Van Hooser, along with 15 grandchildren.
