Fountain Industries, a team playing in the Maple Island softball league, took third place at nationals in Faribault over Labor Day weekend. According to player Jed Bair the team has only officially played together for two years. Bair said the team was happy with third place, but felt they could have played better in the final game. “I’m pretty sure we’ll come back next year,” Bair said. “I don’t think we can finish with a third-place finish when we have the mentality to place higher.” After the tournament, two players, Brian Ehrich and Justin Kohn, were elected for the All Tournament team.
